The Riverside County coroner's office has identified two men killed today in a pre-dawn crash in Joshua Tree National Park.
Jason Dean Stevens and Jeffery Lee Husted, both 26 and of Twentynine Palms, died in the rollover crash that was discovered just before 7 a.m., the coroner's office said in a news release.
Angela Patterson, 22, of Twentynine Palms, was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi sedan west on Federal Park Route 12 when she lost control and the car rolled, the Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Stevens and Husted, who were sitting in the back seat, died at the scene.
Patterson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected, the CHP said. Tasmin Woodmansee, 26, of Twentynine Palms, the front seat passenger, was wearing her seat belt. Firefighters had to cut her out of the wreckage.
An air ambulance took Patterson and Woodmansee to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where their condition was not known.
Patterson was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, the CHP said.
